On this day in history, on May 5th, 1862, Mexican troops defeated the invading French forces of Napoleon III in the Battle of Puebla despite being outnumbered three to one. Today, Cinco De Mayo is celebrated nationally in Mexico as the “La Batalla de Puebla” and often confused with their independence day (which is celebrated  September 16.) #ProgressIsPossible
