On this day in history, July 20th, 1969, American Astronaut, Neil Armstrong, became the first man to walk on the surface of the moon. Stepping off the lunar landing module Eagle 240,000 miles from Earth, he proclaimed: “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind!”
