Director of Defense and Commercial Partnerships – Dr. Bret Strogen is the owner of DC-based consulting business, Strogen Strategic Sustainability, LLC, which provides strategic advice to innovative energy and environmental technology companies on customer discovery and acquisition, commercial partnerships, federal R&D funding, and project development opportunities. Bret previously worked for seven years at the Pentagon—most recently as the U.S. Army’s Special Assistant for Energy and Sustainability—where he advised interagency alternative energy initiatives, oversaw utilities privatization and energy performance contracting programs, and coordinated briefings and reports to Congress on the department’s energy activities. He is a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and holds a BS in Environmental Engineering from the University of Delaware and an MS and PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
