#ThisDayInHistory: On June 24th, 1895, Boxing champ Jack Dempsey was born in Manassa, Colorado. Dubbed “The Manassa Mauler,” he reigned as world heavyweight champion from 1919 to 1926. Following his boxing career, he became a successful New York restaurant operator.
